Award Honors on Achievements

In the fair, transparent, and equitable acknowledgment of exemplary achievements within the dental community, thereby fostering professional development and excellence.

Scope of Recognition

The Fiji Dental Association’s Executive Council honors outstanding achievements in dentistry, spanning excellence, research, community service, innovation, and leadership.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to all within Fiji’s dental community. Nominees must show significant and sustained contributions to the dental profession, aligning with the association’s values and objectives.

Nomination Process

Individuals and organizations familiar with the nominee’s work can submit nominations. These should include detailed information about the nominee’s achievements, contributions, and their impact on the dental community.

Evaluation and Selection

The Executive Council will assess nominations, select awardees through consensus or majority vote, and thoroughly review nominee accomplishments, impact, and alignment with the Fiji Dental Association’s values and goals.

Types of Awards

Newsletter Award

Awarded to a member of the association who has contributed the best or most publishing material or worked on the production.

CDP Award

Awarded to a member with most points in a year. Evidence of accreditated points is mandatory

Service Award

Awarded to a member of the Association for excellent distinguished service to/for the association and in towards better of Oral Health

Award Process Overview:

  • Announcement and Presentation: Awardees receive official recognition during a Fiji Dental Association event. Awards are presented with honor before peers, members, and the wider dental community.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Award selection discussions remain confidential, ensuring integrity in decision-making.
  • Appeals and Disputes: Disputes can be addressed through an established appeals procedure. The Council considers genuine appeals transparently.
  • Review and Amendment: The Executive Council periodically reviews and updates award procedures, with authority to make necessary amendments.
